Carrick Station, the main hub of the Republic Fleet; nearing 300 years since its construction, the massive spacedock is kept in near-pristine condition, ready to cater to the needs of thousands of crews and passengers every day-cycle.

Every pilot worth of the name knows the hyperlane coordinates to Carrick, and will visit the place at least once in their lifetime.

"And," says a voice coming from the lift "this was just a diversion." Oh, look, it's the twi'lek female of before.

Annabelle gives the Twi'lek a Look. "The way my luck's been running lately, I should have known."

Seriously, is there something wrong with her? Why is everyone ELSE disloyal?

Actually... "Ambassador Asara, I presume?" Onemi comes over, nodding to the Twi'lek. "What you mean by diversion?"

"Yes. It's me the Grand Moff is after." She woman shakes head. "While you were here, the Imperials used breacher probes to insert a group of mandalorian mercenaries into the bridge; they just put the ship under security lockdown."

"That's no good." Narlock shakes head. "With the Bridge locked down, we can not go anywhere."

Annabelle is relieved to be wrong, for a change. "But you're here and you're the one they want, yes?"

"We could set up an ambush, maybe..." She glances at the Security Officer. "How many approaches to this position do we have to worry about?"

"All of them." Narlock frowns. "We need to get the ship back under control, or they will just lock every section in turn and use the passengers as hostages."

"Well, can't you unlock things?" Corso goes for the obvious, after all Narlock is Chief of Security.

"Not something initiated from the Bridge." Then, an idea. "Chief Engineer Salen, he knows every system on this ship better than anyone; he must know a way."

"And where might Chief Engineer Salen be?" Annabelle asks, thinking.

"Down in the engineering section; just take that hallway, its a straight path there." Narlock points. "More or less."

"We should get moving, then." Onemi starts that way.

"Wait, if the Mandalorians see you opening doors towards the Engineering section, they will notice something is wrong." Asara turns to Narlock. "Chief, can we arrange some sort of diversion?"

"Sure do." Narlock turns to his security team. "Heard that men? We're going to start some trouble with a band of mandalorians!"

Corso shakes head. "We better hurry, then... if we are going to try the impossible, better to be quick about it."

The Trandoshan says something in his language, and Onemi... actually smiles a bit. "As you say, Master Hunter."

Annabelle grins. "Never planned on living forever anyway, let's do this!"

Might as well go out in a blaze of glory as opposed to dying on your knees, no?

Onemi and the Trandoshan take point, the jedi moving fast and light like a breeze, the lizard-man with the relentless stride of a predator; on the way, they are faced with a few sliced droids, and imperial agents, likely the spies.

Onemi flows past them, cutting down a couple; the Trandoshan cleaves past with brutal grace.

The remaining ones turn stupidly away from Corso and Annabelle, trying to track the two fighters with their blasters.

Bad mistake?

Damn, Onemi looks hot when she's taking enemies apart like that.


Very bad mistake. Annabelle does not miss, with either blaster. She may be less...flashy than the Jedi and the lizard-man, but that does mean she's any less deadly.

Corso is no slouch either, we're sure.

And one can keep wondering how her tube top does not 'malfunction'.

Well, Corso needs to stop to fire, but that's fine, he can just cover the rear; a few minutes longer and they arrive at the... wall? Oh, wait, control panel of the wall, Onemi hits the switch and the wall opens to reveal the engineering area...

...locked behind force fields.

"Chief, look!" One of the techs calls for a balding, wiry man. "Someone's here."

The man comes over, as close as the force field allows. "You must be crazy, running around with mandalorians on board."

Annabelle is definitely going to ask how she does that with that top when this mess is over. And maybe see if she wants some...company.

"That's me, crazy," Annabelle replies with a grin. "I don't suppose you'd be willing to give us some info on the systems on this ship?"

"What kind of information?" The older man raises a brow.

"How to undo a security lockdown, so we can work back a stalemate with that big ship outside?" Corso, always helpful.

"You think you can get back into the bridge?" The man sounds impressed. "Well, I'm sure we can find a way."

"I hope so." Oh, look, Ambassador Asara. "You did a good job, clearing the way here. On some good news, the mandalorians didn't lock the express lift yet. On some bad news, Commander Narlock will not be able to keep the boarders distracted long, we need to retake the bridge now."

"Can we use the express lift to get to the bridge?"

[infinitest]

"Not all the way, there's still a force field blocking the passage." Asara shakes head.

"What about... a reactor reset, chief?" The first tech points at a display screen. "It would reset all non-essential systems, including the lockdown fields."

"Yes, and since we do a reset in case of a leak, it would also vent the whole engineering compartment to avoid contamination." Salen frowns. "Why you think the controls are on the other side of the containment field?" He points at a control panel on a wall.

"Is there anyway to get around that force field?" Annabelle asks.

Because venting would kill all those people in engineering.

"The secondary power conduits." Salen snaps fingers with a new idea. "if you shut all three in quick sequence, the main computer will override power to lights and life support, and that will shut down the lockdown shields. Then we can turn them on again after you get the mandalorions off the bridge."

"Where are those conduits?" Onemi nods at the idea.

"Down the left and right hallways, in the lower level; its just a few minutes away."

"We don't have 'a few minutes'; each moment we waste is a moment closer to the one when Kilran will tire of playing with us and kill everybody on board." Asara starts towards the control panel. "I'm sorry Salen; you will be remembered."

Annabelle points her blaster at Asara. "Don't even think about it," she says icily. "You don't get to play God, not today."

Asara glares at Annabelle. "Fine. But you are dooming all of us."

"You, crazy witch!" Salen shakes his fist at the Ambassador. "Resetting the conduits will work, and the captain will know about this."

Onemi nods. "Someone needs to stay and watch over her, just in case." The Trandoshan says something, and the Jedi nods to him. "Thank you, master Hunter." Then she turns to Salen. "All the way down the halls?"

"Yes, either hall leads to three small connected rooms, look for the big gray boxes with control panels in each one." The older man nods. "Shut them down quickly and the computer will bring down the lockdown fields."

"I bet I can slice it." Corso nods. "Still have my kit."

"Right, down the hall, big grey boxes," Annabelle replies, nodding.


The group, minus the lizard-man and Asara, makes a mad dash down the hall. Switches are thrown,systems are sliced, and the group runs BACK down the hall.

They arrive back to find the containment around the engineering is down.

Asara is not looking at anyone, but talking in her comm. "Commander Narlock? You must have seen the lockdown was removed, care to join us in retaking the Bridge?"

"Copy that, Ambassador, we are going to shake off a mandalorian patrol and head there."

"Sounds like it's express elevator time," Annabelle says with a grin.

"Well, lets go, then." Asara is very much still not looking at anyone, specially not at the engineers she almost killed dead a few minutes ago.

Annabelle may be taking a little too much pleasure in Asara's discomfort. Bad smuggler!

The gang climbs into the elevator and starts the trip up.

"I was wondering when you'd finally show up. I guess you have to be pretty good or pretty crazy to mess with people like us." Comes a voice from the PA speakers. "Just give me a decent fight for once, will ya?"

The Trandoshan tilts head, saying something; Onemi shrugs. "It might be. Would be rude to not finish this properly."
