Beryl's Bargain
Sep. 22nd, 2013 09:55 pm"Taris was once a magnificent planet-wide metropolis of towering skyscrapers. But that was a long time ago."
―Carth Onasi
Three centuries before, the Ecumenopolis of Taris was a failing world: pollution had destroyed its marine life, famines were common, and conflicts between the human Tarisian nobles and the largely alien underclass were widespread.
Then, Darth Malak used orbital bombardment against the surface in an attempt to kill an enemy; all of Taris' problems ended, in the most drastic way possible, with only a fraction of the population escaping the destruction.
Exactly three hundred and fifteen years after the bombardment, the Republic took up the difficult task of recolonizing Taris, intending to make it a symbol of hope for the Galaxy.
